Mitsubishi VS-5043 wavy lines

I recently purchased a home that has a VS-5043 big screen TV. No manuals, no information. I was watching the TV the other night when the picture began to show wavy colored lines and become much darker. Also, the horizontal hold seems to be erratic. The wavy lies are diagonal across the screen from top to bottom, right to left. The setup menu is clear, as is the picture in picture. Will not play a DVD hooked to input one without the same affect. Switched the cable to the other antenna feed with no change. Powered off, unplugged, no change. Anyone got any good ideas? I hate to spend a lot of money on an old TV if the prognosis is not good for a long term fix. I am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction, or has information on locating a repair manual. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
