Samsung TXR3079WH-Any Good? Can't Post

I getting ready to replace my 10 year old TV and want HDTV, 30" Wide Screen, Flat front and want to spend less than $1000.00. I saw the Samsung TXR3079WH and I liked the fact it was a tried and true CRT and a slim fit model. But I wonder why only one manufacturer would produce a slimfit type when regular CRT's are so deep and heavy. Does anyone have any experience with this type or have a recommendation that fits the specs I want? I appreciate your input. Thanks.

be careful.samsung released a slim crt tv in the UK and it was the worst tv I have seen in 20 years for pic quality and geometric errors.check its picture carefully in the showroom first.the problem is trying to bend a beam of light around such sharp angles. you can end up with poor definition and bent horizontals

Thanks for the information. I wonder if that's the reason other manufacturers have not come out with a slimfit type?
