Red Static?

Red Static?	Can't Post

I've noticed that when my plasma TV (Toshiba 42HP66 42") goes to a black picture (and sometimes color), there is some red static. its really obvious and annoying at times when there's a lot of black on the screen. It appears more while watching TV than movies (I use digital cable/HD tv from comcast) Is this fixable or common on plasmas? Need i worry?

You've got a problem on the Y sustain board. If the set is still under warranty you need to get a servicer out to fix it.

the sustain voltage is adjustable on the powersupply.usually there is a label on the back of the screen to tell you what it should be for that screen

Theres a reason why you should ask a autherised Toshiba repair center, cuz if you don't you get Y board failers and power supply problems or you could just read the atatched service buliten

Now keep in mind this is only for this chassis of Toshibas So all the rest of you with the Vizio and the Samsungs look elsewhere for a solution

I had a TV tech come out and he's repairing it. He's replacing the inside (i think he said something about the actual plasma, im not sure) but i also have a dead pixel, but he cant fix that because toshiba's warranty only covers dead pixels if there are 3 or more...

None of the answers your received here ever came close to the problem, You can't fault the display if the input source varies from the other that causes this statics. There's no such thing!/ check your power source, if problem still exist, call COMCAST and have your HD BOX replace. Your plasma is fine to me according to your description of the problem.
