Hi Shaun -- Check diodes near the caps you changed, if any are bad it will cause caps to bulge.

Here are a few more things I found in my notes from past repair jobs of that set ...

Check the connections on IC 1019 located on the B-board #875966950,

Replace the B-board #A1300914A, the board should be located above the tuner assembly

Hope this helps, Dan

.

Partstore.com carries major electronic parts, open 24 hours. if you can disengage the tuner section, then power up. if stays on! then tuner is the problem. if it does thesame? better off get rid of it.

Re: [t1412] SONY KE-42TS2E [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a similar problem see:
I put in a reccycled B-Board and same problem as before. The power led lights up, the fan comes on, the screen flashes very quickly a white light, the sleep timer light flashes once, relay RY101 clicks on the power switching board, then the power goes off - shuts everything off - remains off for 30 seconds and same happens again. This will continue 2-4 times then it shuts off.

Is this still a B Board problem - did they send me a bad BBoard?

I am to get a second new B-Board today and will let you know what I find out.
Do you have a pictorial layout of the Power switching board Sony APS -192 part no:1-468-720-11? Can you send it to me - I can not find it on the net.
Thanks

i striped the tuner down reconnected the cables and powered up the tv and it came on ok got the menu up i did't check for picture as it's at the back of my living room aerial to far away. i put the metal cover back on powered it back up again nothing dead i'm sure the plastic ribbon cable my be my problem. some of the metal ends some are missing have you check the 4 large capacitors to see if there are swelled on your set there are 2200mf 100v
