TH42PA20 Can't Post

hello

i have a panasonic Th42PA20 which is less than a year old. it has suddenly started to switch the screen and volume off with only the power light flashing. the only way to swtich the tv back on is to switch it off and on with the switch. it can happenos often as every 1/2 hourand sometimes when operating another control such as Sky, Video or DVD

any suggestions possible

Re: [cpmsmith] TH42PA20 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi, I am the unhappy owner of the same model Panasonic TH-42PA20. I purchased it about Jan2004. Things were great for 2 years and it was out of warranty after 1 year ie: about jan2005. recenly the colours started becoming distorted ie: red patches on peoples faces and grren areas where they should'nt be. The Panasonic repair agents are still scratching their heads after 3 weeks. PANNSONIC have been absolutely disgraceful with after sales service and will give no support at all.
So much for the name PANASONIC which I thought would be prepared to back up their product. NO way they say. It cost me $6500 two years ago. HaPirateVE YOU STILL GOT YOUR SET AND HOW IS IT GOING?

sounds like your tv has a solarized picture, usually a problem on the video processor pcb.Dont expect manufacturers to be helpful after 2 years.it just does'nt happen.

sounds exactly same problem as mine and mine is also the same model TH-42PA20. SEE my comments earlier tonight about 2 hours ago. I should be hearing from Panasonic tomorrow. I live in Cairns Australia and have been liasing with Pansonic headquarters in Sydney. I'll keep you posted
