Toshiba 42HP66 Can't Post

I got a new 42'' Toshiba 42HP66 plasma TV yesterday, and ive never had a plasma before.
is it normal to take around 5 seconds to change channels - i have a small LCD TV in the kitchen, and it takes around 2 seconds.
also, i was in the menu setting for about 10 min or so adjusting the color and whatnot, and afterwards, i went to a black screen (switching inputs) and i could see a ghost image of the menu screen - no color, but letters and border.
it went away this morning, after the TV was off all night.
The guy i got the TV from said new plasmas are harder to get burned-in images than older plasmas, but i dont know..
a brand new TV of any kind shouldnt have small ghosts images that soon - unless thats just how plasmas are.

one more question- it has built-in HD, and i have basic cable (ch. 3-99, no showtime or anything) so does that mean i can go to like ABC or NBC, any big-time channel that broadcasts in HD, and get off-air HD channels, or do i still need some kind of antenna or box? I go to the channels, but i cant tell any difference form the image quality, so i cant really tell if its working or not.
Only time picture looks perfect is when watching DVD's

Re: [Biliouschee] Toshiba 42HP66 [In reply to] Can't Post

the after images could be caused by the sustain voltage being incorrectly set for the screen.or maybe the response time on the screens used in those tv's is not very good in which case there is nothing you can do.ask for a tech callout to check.as for taking 3 seconds longer to change channels well just enjoy the programs and dont worry about it. its not a fault. If the set is HD ready then you should be able to get off air HD programs
