Dead LXI 626.54471959 Can't Post

I was cleaning (attempting) the set, lenses and screen, and my dumb a$$ forgot to 1) unplug the set, and 2) protect the board from spilled coolant. (I was not aware of the liquid that would leak when the lenses were loosened). Now it is completely dead. Lucky for me, the set was off and I believe the HV section is OK. The processor on the other hand was not so lucky. Any ideas where I might find one of these? The info from the chip (IC301) includes SAB 80513-P and 823504104230. SIEMENS brand chip. Thanks for any and all help.

You have a mess! That's a phillips/magnovox tv you have. You need to first clean the boards from the coolent. Remove the boards one at a time and run hot water from the tap in the area's where the fluid is and wash out the coolent with a small brush. Try not to saturate the board if you can help it. Once washed you need to take high air pressure and blow the board REAL GOOD and get the water off. Then take a hair drier and finish the drying. Don't forget the ribbon cables if the plug was contaminated that they were pluged into. Once you have done that see if you have turn then, you should get a green light up front on the key pad followd by high voltage. But the reason you were in the lens assy. was probley because your pic on your tv really looked like shit. glowing around images and menu desplays and pix being at a yellow cast. That there is a different issue. You need to first make shure your lenses are tighten and secured and get a raster back on the set before you attack the fluid change in the crts. Good Luck and let me know.

I did the alcohol cleanup as suggested in several other posts, seems the board is now clean and the plugs are too, the only ones that got wet were the ones going to the keypad. I am going to be checking for the +5v that hangs out near the processor and if I have that, then I'll still be searching for that chip. I took the board to another guy local that works on them and he suggested the same thing. Thanks for the reply.

update [In reply to] Can't Post

I waited a little while longer and I now get a green LED and response from the remote. I also have HV and the charging sound from the tubes, still no light though. Will check tube heaters and go from there. N0w reasonably sure the micro is not bad. I did change the HOT and cured a surge when the line is connected. The internal damper diode was about 400 ohms out of circuit in both directions

another update [In reply to] Can't Post

just another update...after further testing, i have determined that the white flyback is bad. it seems that the filament coil in that unit has a problem. as i'm sure you know, this unit has 2 flybacks, one in the main board and one on the hv power board. the white one on the main board is special because it has no hv output cable attached. the black one on the other board takes care of that. the waveform at the HOT is correct and i do know that the transformer is operating, just seems that winding is bad. anybody know where i might get one? or at least how to identify it?

Re: [jlw3962] another update [In reply to] Can't Post

i tried a trick i saw elsewhere, and it brought the picture back! i wound about 4 turns of 22 gauge around the exposed iron of the flyback and connected that to the wires going to the tube heaters and whadda ya know? lit up just like normal! now all i have to do is go about changing the coolant and we're in business...
