Hitachi 50FX30B	Can't Post

The Power light on the front comes on but there is no picture or no sound but when i hit th menu button on the remote the menu comes up. I took the back off off it and there are 6 leds 5 of them are green the other is red Thanks

What source are you using? For example, some sets on input 2 with nothing connected or turned on, (usually After OSD "Video 2" has faded away) may show a blank screen with no audio (especially if bright/contrast set low).

As Ron would ask: What electronics background / skills / tools do you have? Cool

Im going for my bachelors in computer eletronics And i have nothing connected to the tv it is on channel 3 and it used to show a white screen but now it shows nothing the first time it done this we just left it on for about a month and it come on and stayed on so we never turned it off we had a power outage here and ever since then the tv has been on for about 2 months and never has come on

This bothers me a bit.....
According to my service manual , there's D950 thru D954 which are "leds" & indicate various low voltage power supplys are working when green...
IF one of those is "red" it could be that circuit that is causing his problem....
Before anyone ( NOT you jts) starts jumping up & down , YES , I did see that he has a menu display , so he has High Voltage & D975 the protect led IS green....

Concerning that "6th" led (the "red" one) , can you give us a circuit reference # , like D950 thru D954 or whatever it is ????

NOT a good idea to leave on 24/7 for months on end....
I suspect that it is unattended at times...
You are asking for the possibility of serious problems includeing fire damage to the TV &/or your home....Your call...
