Magnavox Tuner Problem	Can't Post

Have an older Magnavox 46 in. projection tv model RL8530 AK02. I lost my picture and only get snow on the screen. I can run the dvd and the picture and audio is fine, I suspect the problem is the tuner. I would like to replace the tuner myself if needed. Can anyone give me any info. on how to do it, or if I should just call a repairman. Any info would be greatly appreciated.........Thanks

Hi,

First check the solder connections in the tuner and the tuner to the PCB.

If this does not remedy the problem you can buy a new or rebuilt tuner from:

www.tiptoptuner.com

or

www.wehaveparts.com

Or you can just use a VCR or a VCR / DVD combo as your tuner, just run your cable straight into the VCR or Combo and use the S video, or component (yellow, red, white) inputs from the VCR to the TV.

Likewise some cable boxes have component outputs, which eliminates the need for a tuner in the TV.

I purchased a vcr for 50 bucks and everything works fine now. They were going to charge me around 100 just for the tuner. Thanks again.
