Mitsubishi VS-4543 Problems Can't Post

Hello,

I have recently recived a Mitsubishi VS-4543 Rear projection television.

The TV Turns on and Turns right back off. The former owner said it did this but sometimes stayed on.

I Re-soldered most of the components on the HV board, I figured that might be the problem. Unfortunatley It did not fix the problem

Does anyone have any tips on what this problem could be caused by? I feel it could be the TV is going into protect because it senses too much HV.

OK

I tested Transistor Q5K01 and Q5K00 on DBF board, They appear to be faulty.

They look like Horizontal Out so....Im gonna replace the 2SC4636 Transistors and see what happens.

Hopefully that fixes the problem

I have the same tv and it is losing its color and has some faint lines in the picture. Did you fix your tv? Do you have any suggestions with my tv?
Thanks

look in the switch mode power supply there is small capacitor like a 1mf or 4.7mf,10mf,47mf,100mf @50vdc or higher near the regulator (part on heat sink) sitting close to heavy wattage resistors. The capacitor dry's out near the resistors and the unit become intermitten at first. Those Mits are plagued with leaky caps though out the set. You need to look at the value on the cap and replace it and your have a good change your fix it. I have done many + of these units and you need to put back all other attemps in the circuits your in and go to the switch mode power supply. There are normally two of them the standby and the Run. There next to one anouther and look simmular to each other. Replace the caps in both to cover your ass. Good Luck.
