On my picture when the contrast is turned up i get
a blue blur to the right of faces and other things. does
anyone know why this occurs and how to correct if possible
on an old tv such as this. If I turn contrast down to much to where
it goes away then pic. is to dark. What's the basic life of a picture tube?
And is this why all of this is occuring, pic tube goin bad.

I'm surprised those CRT's lasted as long as they did. Time to crack open that wallet and invest in a new TV.

Condition is sometimes called flagging.Usually indication of a weak tube.Although it may be possible to rejuvinate the tube there are no guaranties it will work,or work for long.I did a mitsubishi with all three tubes bad, about 6 mo. ago, still working good.If you want to invest some money in the problem you might go that direction.Don't get talked into replacing tube, very expensive. All three tubes may be weak.Call a tv service place & see what it would cost to test & possibly rejuvinate tubes. Can't hurt.If price is to high for your taste invest in another set.Good luck.
