Philips 50P8341 Can't Post

Hi all, I have a philips 50p8341 PTV915, I just noticed that the tv shuts off by it self. It started recently I'm watching tv and next thing you know you cant use the remote for nothing at all, after that it shows a display saying that the tv will shut off in about XX seconds, after it shuts off nothing at all, I cant turn it on on the set or by the remote, I noticed that if I unplug it and plug it back in it will come on. I recently did a CRT coolant change and cleaned as much dust as I could, I ensured that all connections where tight and plugged in, after that it had a bad alignment, so after doing some reading I adjusted thru the service menu hitting 062597 code, I when ahead and did a manufacture reset, can I have thrown something out of wack thanks

BIG mistake...."can I have thrown something out of wack"...YES , you obviously did....
Unless you are a Tech , you have NO bussiness going into the "Factory Menu"...
Factory menus are similar to "tune ups" for older cars...
While the proceedure may be the same , the settings will vary....
Such is the case for all TV's etc....
Not just from model to model , but also from one set to another
within the same model number....

Try this;....
From pg,#28 in my service manual;==>...

- Line 6 : "TIMER ON "
Indicates that the on/off timer is running.
The following Complaints may be caused by the activation of the sleep timer:
The set may turn on from standby or may switch to a different channel
without using either the remote control or the local keyboard.
To switch off the activation timer:
Select "TIMER" in the "FEATURE" menu.
Select "ACTIVATE' in the "TIMER" menu.
Set to "OFF" with the left/right cursor keys.

IF that doesn't work , post back , I may have further assistance for you to try...

GOOD LUCK...
