RCA PROJECTION PROBLEM Can't Post

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A RCA PROJECTION CTC195 WITH A MAJOR CONVERGENCE PROBLEM! THE PIC COMES IN PERFECT AT FIRST THEN AFTER A MINUTE OR SO IT GOES WAY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND PULLS IN FROM THE CENTER OF THE TOP AND BOTTOM. MENU ADJUSTMENTS DO NO GOOD . ANY HELP ON FIXING THIS WOULD BE GREAT! THANX,

MC

Remove back on your left will be the main board on right will be your convergence board right above is the power board for the convergence remove it and you can try to resolder it being very careful in not causing any solder bridges. But it's more likely the IC STK730-130 is failing just replace it and you should alright.Dontvvcr

Just like "dontvvcr" says, it is most likely the convergence ic's. They can over heat over time and cause connection problems. Sometimes they can be solved easily with a simple resoldering of the contacs, other times they need to actually be replaced. If you have come to the conclusion that they need replacement, try here www.audiolabga.com Enter the part number found on the STK ic (usually mounted to the large aluminum heat sink).
