Samsung HCM4216W Problem!

hello everyone I am having a problem with a Samsung HCM4216W. Now I recieved this TV from a neighbor that is moving and put it on the side of the road. It is in good condition and when i spoke with her she said that It works and does not have any problems. So I thought SCORE!! Well when i get home and hook it up it doesnt come on. BUt when i press power the red light comes on and blinks. Now I can hear it click inside the TV likes its coming on BUT the screen and no sound come on. Also I hear a Digital sound inside going off every few seconds. and it sounds like It is trying to come on over and over agian. Now I called Samsung and they said unplug it and push power for 10secs then plug in and try agian. And still the same thing. so she is going to set me up with a service call. B"Ut i want your opinion on anything that i can do before soem guy comes out and trys to charge me my first born to fix it. Thanks Sonny
