My Sony KP53V35 developed a yellowish tinge (lack of red, really). I debated over a couple weeks whether it was really off or just my eyes. Then it gave a "pop" with a flash of bright red and died. Turning it back on, everything was very reddish; when on over time it seemed to alternate between reddish and colorless. Tech came, pulled the front panel and adjusted the controls on the focus/screen box. He said the "pop" was probably from floating debris in the red crt shorting it out; may happen again, maybe not; he'll get me a price on a new tube just in case. Color looked good when he left, but I've noticed a problem. Left to right, the screen gets brighter, and also more reddish. If flesh tones are good viewed from the left (where I usually sit), from the center they are bright and red, and from the right overly bright and very red. So my question: is there an adjustment for this (I can move the horizontal image, collectively or by color, but it doesn't change the brightness/redness differential) or am I right in guessing it is related to the red crt which will have to be replaced?
