Toshiba 50HX81 Can't Post

Hello, I have a slight problem (OK, minor annoyance) with my 50HX81 projection set. The writing appears to be 3-D and have a doubled effect. I don't really notice it while watching TV and the picture still looks good for a 7 year old TV. I tried adjusting the convergence in the tech mode but the horizontal lines near the bottom left are no longer straight thus cannot be adjusted. My guess is that this is a convergence issue? If so, does anyone know of a fix for this problem? Parts, etc? Is the repair pretty straightforward? I'm trying to decide whether or not the repair is worth the time, effort, and cost or would now be a good time to upgrade to new LCD?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Randy
