won't turn on	Can't Post

Toshiba projection TV, 8 yrs old, TP50F60, won't turn on. When plugged in a click can be heard, and the power indicator starts to blink. This happened after a few seconds of sudden black-out of the AC line, though the AC line is equipped with a surge arrester. Any idea what happened?

I have seen this problem occur on several models of toshiba projetion TV's. It usually requires you to change the Convergence Ic's. They are easy to find, they are the largest Ic's in the set and are mounted against very large aluminum heat sinks. They are on the left side circuit board as looking from the rear. If you remove the small plugs on the convence Ic board the set should come on. I believe one is a 4 pin plug, 5 pin and a 6 pin. take those off and then try to turn it on. if it comes on and stays on that is the problem. You won't have any convergence, but it will get you started in the right direction.
