DaveMN;...

Just to refresh both our memories;=>...

Quote
That is kind of a "generic" method for Magnavox/Philips TVs..
There are some differences that I would like to suggest to you to make things go better..
When you are ready to jump in & start this , post a day ahead & I'll give you the changes step by step to make regarding the procedure they gave you...
Examples are;...
You disconnect & take out ONLY 1 CRT at a time...
Will explain when the time comes..
Cleaning the lens assembly will be different & EASIER !!...
Will also explain when the time comes..
I will need a pix (NOT HUGE) of the CRT lens assembly...<<

Re-read post #20...
Do you have the stuff you need ???..

Quote
I need to know what time zone you live in...

Here's the plan;...
I intend to be online while you are doing this...
Reason is that I'm going to give you 1/2 of the steps & then you STOP ...
I need pix of the 1st (Blue) CRT when it is out of the TV...
I need to see what the lens assembly looks like to give you proper instructions how to disassemble that to clean the lenses & CRT face , etc.
That way you should be able to do it all at one shot instead of a 2 day affair..

This is important...
I have prepared a version of the tutorial that should make some of it easier for you , but , I NEED a pix of the CRT assembly so I can tell you an easier way to clean the CRT face & the lenses...
I intend to give that to you in real time so as to not delay your work & in case there's any glitches..

At the risk of being redundant;=>...

Im stuck on understanding this part..

IF you CAN , in the 3rd pix in this step , there's a small yellow slot on the side of the flyback that has another slot 180* from this one...

DaveMN;....

"They/I" want you to trace the heavy red wire that comes off the side of the "Blue" CRT to the flyback & remove that wire from the flyback...
Follow my instructions for removal & NOT theirs...
IF you get stuck there post back & I'll give you an alternative way to remove the wire...
Just pulling up on the wire without releasing the tabs can & often does cause damage to the flyback...

Does that help ???

It doesn't look like you're going to get both tubes done today...
How much time do you have left for today ???

stuck on pix 4. the instructions sat to "On each tube you will find "4" small screws that hold it to the metal rack. The screws will be located on the outer edge of the square tube frame. Remove all four screws on the blue and green tube. Do not remove the screws on the lens cap."

I took the screws off so the tube is not attached to the mental frame but the bottom part of the tube is still attached
